Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic project management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Senior Planning Engineer will play a critical role in providing expertise on planning, scheduling, risk management, and progress tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar software.
- Ensure the timely submission of all project deliverables and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to determine project scope and deliverables.
- Prepare and update project timelines, tracking the progress and identifying any schedule delays.
Resource Management:
- Assist in the allocation and tracking of resources required for projects (including labor, materials, and equipment).
- Optimize project resources to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and issues related to schedule, resources, or budget.
- Work closely with project managers to develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans when necessary.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present progress reports, including schedule variance analysis and forecast reports.
- Document and communicate changes to project schedules, delays, or adjustments.
- Maintain and update project databases, tracking systems, and scheduling documents.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (such as contractors, subcontractors, and clients) to ensure proper project execution.
- Attend project meetings, provide input on schedule matters, and help resolve scheduling issues.
Continuous Improvement:
- Review project plans and suggest improvements in planning methodologies.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior planners and project staff.
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience:At least 6-8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in construction, engineering, or a similar industry.Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects with a demonstrated ability to deliver on time and within budget.Skills:Strong knowledge of project management principles, including risk management and scheduling techniques.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
