Procurement Mep senior Engineer Work in Saudi Arabia

The Senior Procurement MEP Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) materials, equipment, and services for construction projects. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and compliance with technical specifications and project requirements. The position requires strong coordination with project managers, site

engineers, suppliers, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement and smooth project execution.

Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Identify and source MEP materials such as HVAC systems, piping, pumps, electrical panels, lighting, transformers, fire protection systems, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, lead time, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Obtain, review, and negotiate quotations to achieve cost savings while ensuring material quality.
  • Develop long-term relationships with reliable vendors and subcontractors.

Technical & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that procured materials and equipment meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Work closely with the design and site teams to verify material compliance before approval.
  • Address any technical or quality-related issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers and site teams to align procurement with project schedules.
  • Monitor material lead times and coordinate deliveries to prevent project delays.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies to optimize costs and supply chain efficiency.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure reliability.
  • Maintain an updated database of approved MEP suppliers and continuously assess market trends.
  • Establish and manage long-term agreements with key suppliers to secure better pricing and service levels.

Cost Control & Reporting:

  • Track procurement costs and ensure alignment with project budgets.
  • Prepare and submit procurement reports, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives to optimize procurement costs without compromising quality.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, supplier communications, and material approvals.
  • Work with legal and finance teams to manage procurement risks and contractual obligations.


Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in MEP procurement for construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, equipment, and materials.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks and meet tight deadlines.
