Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the plant. He will lead a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems to support production processes. The Maintenance Manager will develop and implement preventive maintenance plans, manage equipment downtime, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, setting performance objectives, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement effective preventive maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime and maximise productivity.
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify any issues or potential problems and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Plan and oversee equipment repairs, collaborating with external vendors or contractors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance history, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement training programs for maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on advancements in maintenance technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements or upgrades as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in manufacturing environment.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.Solid understanding of preventive maintenance methodologies and tools.Proficient in analysing maintenance data and developing reports for management.Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
