Job Description:
The Senior Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the production processes, providing technical expertise, and ensuring smooth operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role involves optimizing production efficiency, reducing downtime, and maintaining product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput while maintaining product quality.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Provide engineering support for troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and developing corrective actions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior engineers and production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet required specifications and quality standards by implementing and maintaining effective quality control measures.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular performance reports to management.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of production equipment, ensuring uptime and reliability. Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all production activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: From 4 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of production systems, manufacturing processes, and quality control techniques.
- Proficient in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and production scheduling tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
- Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
