- Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations across all companies.
- Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including vehicle maintenance, fuel management, driver scheduling, and route optimization.
- Monitor vehicle performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage vehicle procurement, including budgeting, selection, and acquisition of new vehicles.
- Conduct regular driver performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching.
- Manage driver schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as production, sales, and customer service, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Track shipments and monitor delivery progress,Resolve any delivery-related issues that may arise.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, including vehicle maintenance, fuel, insurance, and driver salaries.
- Monitor fleet expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Implement and maintain fleet management software and telematics systems to track vehicle location, monitor driver behavior, and optimize routes.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve fleet operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in fleet management.
Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering.5+ years of experience in fleet management roles, preferably within the manufacturing or food industry.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.Strong understanding of DOT regulations and other relevant safety standards.Experience with telematics systems and GPS tracking.Experience in managing a diverse fleet, including trucks, vans, and potentially specialized vehicles.
