Sourcing & Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers of electrical materials, equipment, and components.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring the best pricing and delivery terms.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing performance issues, quality concerns, and resolving disputes.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the technical specifications of electrical products meet project requirements.
Procurement Planning & Execution:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand procurement needs and timelines.
- Develop and maintain procurement plans to ensure timely delivery of electrical materials and equipment.
- Monitor and track procurement orders, ensuring they are processed on time and meet all delivery schedules.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for electrical components, materials, and services in line with technical requirements and budget constraints.
Cost Control & Budget Management:
- Work with the finance and procurement teams to establish and monitor budgets for electrical materials and equipment.
- Analyze pricing trends, supplier quotes, and market conditions to ensure cost-effective procurement decisions.
- Track and report savings or overruns in the procurement of electrical products and services.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure that all procured electrical materials and equipment meet the necessary regulatory and safety standards.
- Monitor the quality control process and collaborate with suppliers to ensure that materials and products meet technical and quality specifications.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards for electrical materials and equipment.
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Collaborate with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock levels of electrical components.
- Monitor the inventory and conduct periodic audits to manage stock and prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure all electrical procurement is aligned with inventory turnover and project needs.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and other procurement documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement challenges.
- Ensure transparency and compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest trends in electrical engineering and procurement strategies.
- Propose process improvements to optimize procurement efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Participate in training and professional development programs to enhance technical and procurement knowledge.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical procurement or a similar role in the construction, manufacturing, or energy industry.Strong knowledge of electrical products, materials, and equipment specifications.Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Understanding of electrical standards and regulations.
