Job Context: working as a Sushi Chef who will be skilled in the art of sushi preparation and plating, committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, and capable of delivering a memorable dining experience to our customers.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including maki, nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
- Ensure all sushi items are made to order with precision and artistry.
- Select, inspect, and prepare fresh seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients daily.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
- Ensure sushi is plated and presented attractively and consistently, adhering to restaurant standards.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers to restock as needed.
- Engage with customers when required, explaining menu options or preparing sushi at live stations.
Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
- A minimum of 4 Years experience as a Sushi Chef in a professional kitchen.
- Exceptional knife skills and understanding of sushi preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and handling practices.
- Creativity in developing unique sushi dishes and menu items.
- Very good in English (speaking, writing, and reading).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
