Job Context: working as a Sushi Chef who will be skilled in the art of sushi preparation and plating, committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, and capable of delivering a memorable dining experience to our customers. 

Key Accountabilities 

The position involves: 

  • Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including maki, nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
  • Ensure all sushi items are made to order with precision and artistry.
  • Select, inspect, and prepare fresh seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients daily.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Ensure sushi is plated and presented attractively and consistently, adhering to restaurant standards.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless dining experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers to restock as needed.
  • Engage with customers when required, explaining menu options or preparing sushi at live stations.

Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We are Looking for:

  • A minimum of 4 Years experience as a Sushi Chef in a professional kitchen. 
  • Exceptional knife skills and understanding of sushi preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and handling practices.
  • Creativity in developing unique sushi dishes and menu items.
  • Very good in English (speaking, writing, and reading). 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
