About Etijah
Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.
Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.
About The Project
In response to the escalating humanitarian crisis, exacerbated by the Syrian crisis in 2017, Etijah has been committed to establishing Safe Spaces for GBV Survivors. Funded by UNFPA and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, these spaces provide comprehensive support, including mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), legal aid, protection services, and medical care. Beneficiaries include refugees, migrants, asylum seekers, and members of host communities.
With a new fund from IOM, the safe space will expand its services to a larger number of migrants, refugees, and host community members.
Duties And Responsibilities
The Project senior officer is responsible for the successful and efficient implementation of all assigned projects under the supervision of the Project manager. This role is pivotal in achieving projects outcomes and aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Role Objectives
- Ensure the efficient and effective implementation of all project activities.
- Significantly contribute to the attainment of the program’s overall goals.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment among staff, partners, and stakeholders.
Role Accountabilities
Project Management
- Monitor project progress closely, utilizing appropriate tools and methodologies to track key indicators and milestones.
- Act as the central point of contact for all projects implemented under the various Safe Space Managers.
- Proactively identify potential risks and challenges, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to the Project Manager and donors.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, donors, NGOs, and community representatives.
- Facilitate effective collaboration and coordination among project partners.
Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Establish robust data management systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Utilize data to inform decision-making, identify trends, and measure project impact.
- Capture and document best practices and lessons learned for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage project budgets in accordance with organizational and donor guidelines.
- Monitor project expenditures closely, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and controls.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including budget versus actual analysis and forecasts.
- Identify and address financial risks to prevent overspending or underutilization of funds.
Required Skills And Experience (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the humanitarian sector.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong financial management and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Experience in working with vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls, is an advantage.
