Fire System Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Fire System Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance for fire protection systems, including automatic systems (such as sprinkler systems) and alarm systems.
  • Ensure all fire-related devices are functioning efficiently and meet required safety standards.
  • Inspect and maintain pipes, valves, and smoke and heat detection devices.
  • Update and modify systems as needed to meet standards or the requirements of new buildings.

Fire Extinguisher Repair:

  • Inspect fire extinguishers to ensure their readiness for use in emergencies.
  • Repair or replace damaged parts in fire extinguishers.
  • Ensure fire extinguishers contain the correct amount of materials (e.g., powder, CO2, water) and are in operational condition.
  • Refill fire extinguishers according to the manufacturer's recommendations and local standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare regular reports on the condition of fire systems and fire extinguishers, documenting all maintenance and repair work.
  • Track and ensure the timely completion of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.

Training and Awareness:

  • Train company or facility staff on how to properly use fire extinguishers.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on improving fire protection systems within the facility.

Coordination with Other Teams:

  • Coordinate with safety and security teams to ensure full compliance with fire safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors for updates or installation of new systems.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering.Minimum knowledge of fire protection systems, fire extinguisher maintenance, and alarm systems.Skills in inspecting equipment and diagnosing faults.Ability to read engineering drawings for fire systems.Previous experience in fire system and fire extinguisher maintenance is an advantage.Required Skills:Strong communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and adhere to schedules.Ability to use maintenance tools and modern fire protection technologies.Work Environment:Work in an industrial or commercial environment, including field sites for buildings and facilities.The job may require travel between different sites to perform maintenance and inspections.
