Role Profile

1. Device Testing and Validation

• Perform end-to-end testing of new handsets, terminals, routers, and other network devices for functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Conduct interoperability tests to ensure devices work seamlessly with the Vodafone’s network infrastructure.
• Execute tests for hardware and software upgrades, focusing on backward compatibility, network optimization, and user experience.

2. Certification of New Technologies

• Certify devices with OEM vendors for compatibility with emerging technologies (e.g., 5G, VoWiFi, eSIM,..etc).
• Develop and maintain certification checklists and test plans aligned with industry standards and vendor requirements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to local/international certifications and standards.

3. Collaboration with OEM Vendors

• Work closely with OEM vendors to understand device specifications and provide feedback on issues identified during testing.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues and validate fixes.
• Ensure timely delivery of certification documents and test results to vendors and stakeholders.

Core Competencies and Qualifications

• Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications.
  • 3+ years of experience in device/network testing, certification, or a similar role.

• Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of wireless and wired communication technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G, VoLTE, VoWiFi protocols).
  • Experience with RF testing, network emulators, and protocol analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software testing methodologies.
• Problem-Solving
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying performance bottlenecks and compatibility issues.
• Communication
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Tools and Certifications
  • Proficiency in testing tools (e.g., Spirent, Anritsu, Keysight) and debugging platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., 3GPP, ITU, IEEE).
