JOB PURPOSE

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world.  If you are  willing to has responsibility for assist in managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level. She/he works with the various factory teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact. Where geographical proximity, size and complexity permit, this role may cover more than one site (DC, external logistics operations...). then this role is just for you!

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  •   Deploy & sustain the following Unilever standards:

    • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Framework Standards.

    • Environmental Care Framework Standards.

  • Support in managing Site’s Safety Health & Environment (SHE) teams responsible to deliver Occupational Health, Safety and Environment results.

  • Develop & Implement safety capability building program for the site management & employees.

  • Support the site team in carrying out the OHS & Environment risk assessments. Track the implementation of the appropriate controls to mitigate or contain the risks.

  • Reduce the site’s environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, CO2 emissions and water & energy consumption. Lead the Zero Waste to Landfill Program by design from the early stages of the site commissioning & planning.

  • Assist in UMS Safety Pillar in accordance with ManEx / UMS guidelines

  • Lead the qualification of the site to the IMS: ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 with the factory team

  • Act as site coach for the Unilever Behavioral Based Safety (SBO/ BeSafE) Program and support the operational team in the deployment of BeSafE program at the site.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever PSM and support deployment in the site.  Provide guidance on the application of Unilever guidelines and procedures for Process Safety Risk Management & SIMAS (Safety in Manufacturing & Supply Chain).

  • Agree & establish safety procedures & effective controls for the Management of Change, Safety Management of Contractors & Commissioning of new Equipment & Machines. 

  • Lead the development of risk assessment & conduct the necessary method statements reviews during the assembly & commissioning stage of the factory.

  • Drive the safety and environmental leadership through line management by Influencing the Leadership Team (SCLT) and team leaders.

  • Monitor site SHE related legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standard. Provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies.

  • Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill health. 

  • Assist the SHE Lead to develop the crisis team and safety committee; support the factory leader in leading incident investigation and analysis.

  • Conduct trend analysis & share results from the incidents, near misses, safe behavior observations and deep compliance audits

  • Develop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as required

  • Determine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs

  • Ensuring that SHE related critical data and records are maintained with integrity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

 ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in Supply Chain operations

  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing or Chemical Engineering experience

  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management

PREFERRED

  • Prior FMCG experience

  • Experience in project setup & new operations set up

  • Specialized post-grad in technical disciplines and/or SHE training & certificates

  • ISO 45001&14001 Lead auditor certificate is preferred.
