Job Summary:
The Network and System Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure and systems. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of all network and system components, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
Responsibilities:
*Network Infrastructure Management:
-Design, deploy, and maintain the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure.
-Installs, configures, tests and maintains servers, SAN, and related networking equipment
-Install and configure servers, and virtual machines (VMS)
-Installs, configures and maintains Fortinet Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc. for maximum internal network protection.
-Install, configure, and maintains Unified Communications, Grand stream VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms.
-Configure and optimize network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure efficient data transmission and network security.
-Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and virtual private networks (VPNs), to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
*System Administration:
-Manage and maintain servers to ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance.
Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and minimize data loss in the event of hardware failures, natural disasters, or cyber-attacks.
-Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures. (QNAP – VEEAM) backup system
-Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operation.
*User Support and Troubleshooting:
-Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users regarding network connectivity, system access, and application issues.
-Assist in the training and support of IT staff and end-users.
*Documentation and Compliance:
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, and security policies to facilitate troubleshooting, audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-proven experience (5-7) as a network administrator and system administrator
-Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols
-Strong understanding of server operating systems and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
-Strong understanding of network security concepts and tools, including Fortinet firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and penetration testing.
-Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE)
-Giza residence is a must.
