- Application Assessment: Evaluate customer applications across diverse platforms (on-premises, AWS, Azure, etc.) to determine their suitability for migration to GCP.
- Hands-on Migration: Assist with the actual migration process, including code refactoring, data transfer, and configuration adjustments.
- Middleware Integration: Analyze and configure middleware components to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Optimization: Recommend and implement best practices for application optimization on GCP, focusing on performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during the migration process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with customers, project managers, and other technical teams to ensure successful migrations.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of migration procedures and application configurations.
- Staying Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest GCP services, features, and best practices.
- Development and Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate migration tasks and improve efficiency.
Experience: 3+ years of experience as an Application Specialist (or a similar role focused on application migration and modernization). Experience with cloud platforms is strongly preferred, with a particular emphasis on GCP.Technical Skills:Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and technologies.Proficiency in Java.Proficiency in one or more additional programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C#, JavaScript, Ruby).Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with networking, databases, and security best practices in a cloud environment.Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).Familiarity with common middleware technologies (e.g., message queues, API gateways).Solid understanding of both front-end and back-end development concepts.Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a dedication to providing excellent service.
