Sherkety, an innovative startup hub in Egypt designed to simplify the process of starting and managing businesses, is looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to join our legal team full-time. As a Senior Corporate Lawyer, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing corporate legal matters for Sherkety and our clients, with a focus on company registration, business formation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and contract management.

 

You will provide expert legal advice and guidance to startups, ensuring that they meet all regulatory and legal requirements as they navigate the complexities of the Egyptian and international business landscape. This is a strategic role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs to succeed.


Provide expert legal advice on corporate law matters, including company registration, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and compliance.• Lead and manage the business registration process for Sherkety’s clients, ensuring all necessary documents are drafted, filed, and submitted in accordance with Egyptian laws and regulations.• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, corporate resolutions, and other legal documents.• Lead due diligence efforts for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring smooth transaction processes and risk mitigation.• Advise clients on corporate structuring and assist with the formation and registration of new business entities, including the drafting and filing of necessary documents.• Ensure compliance with Egyptian corporate laws and regulations, as well as international legal standards where applicable.• Represent Sherkety and its clients in negotiations and legal proceedings as needed.• Mentor and oversee junior lawyers, providing guidance and development opportunities.• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting corporate and startup operations in Egypt.• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on legal and business strategies.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited law school; advanced degrees or certifications in corporate law will be a significant advantage.• Registered with the Egyptian Bar Association.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, including extensive experience with business registration, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and compliance.• Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.• Excellent understanding of Egyptian corporate laws and regulations, with familiarity in international legal frameworks being a plus.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.• Proven ability to manage complex legal projects and provide strategic guidance to clients.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
