Job purpose:

A Business Developer works to improve an organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. This person helps achieving long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. This person job is to work with the internal team, marketing staff, and managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for their organization.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prospect for potential new local and international clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market and geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Visit and meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your people network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings with client decision makers.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

     

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably in the media, marketing, or creative industries.Strong understanding of marketing services, digital solutions, and media production processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and digital sales tools.Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlySolid negotiation skills and ability Ability to fluently speak, read and write English
