Senior Financial Accountant

Job Overview:

The Senior Financial Accountant at Ghaith Foundation for Community Development is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The role involves preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team and other departments to support the foundation's financial health and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, including tax filings and audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support financial planning and management, including project budgeting and reporting.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial operations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within a nonprofit or social impact organization.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Language: Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
