Industrial Application Support Engineer

   - Monitor and maintain the performance of industrial applications, ensuring their availability and reliability.

   - Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues, including interpreting logs to identify root causes and solutions.

   - Respond to user queries and provide technical support, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

   - Assist in managing and maintaining databases that support industrial applications.

   - Perform basic SQL queries for data retrieval and reporting purposes.

   - Support database backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and security.

   - Provide basic support for Windows and Linux operating systems, including system updates and patch management.

   - Assist in configuring and troubleshooting OS-related issues affecting industrial applications.

   - Ensure that industrial applications run smoothly on various OS platforms.

   - Write and maintain simple scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.

   - Support minor application customizations and enhancements using programming languages like Python, Java, or C#.

   - Assist in testing and validating code changes to ensure they meet functional requirements.

   - Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, configurations, log interpretations, and system changes.

   - Generate reports on application performance and support incidents as required.

   - Contribute to the development of user guides and technical documentation.

   - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to support organizational objectives.


  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.  Up to 2 years of experience in an IT support or industrial application support role.  Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Systems Associate) are a plus.  Ability to read, understand, and interpret system and application logs.   Familiarity with log management tools and techniques for diagnosing issues.   Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems like MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.   Ability to perform data retrieval, reporting, and basic database maintenance tasks.   Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, including basic configuration and troubleshooting.   Understanding of OS-level support for industrial applications.   Experience with configuring and maintaining barcode systems, including scanners and printers.   Understanding of how barcode systems integrate with industrial applications.   Basic programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.   Ability to write and maintain simple scripts for automation and process improvements.   Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.   Basic understanding of industrial software applications, such as MES, SCADA, or ERP systems.   Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common application issues.
