Role purpose:

To turn data into information and information into insight to support Vodafone ambition to improve energy efficiency. The Data Analyst will be working with key stakeholders within Group Technology to ingesting and describing data, assessing data utility, producing ad hoc and regular reporting that will help us identify energy cost saving opportunities.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
•    Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
•    Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
•    Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
•    Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
•    Filter and “clean” data 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 
•    Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
•    Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

Language Requirements:

•    English (B2 or above)
Any other non-native language an advantage.


Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
•    At least 2 years’ experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
•    Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (BI tools e.g. Tableau), databases (e.g. SQL), big data framework and tools (e.g. Hadoop, Impala, Spark), programming (e.g. Python)
•    Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (e.g. Excel, Python, R)
•    BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
