Business Development Manager - Logistics Background

Job Description
  • Set Sales and Marketing plan on annual basis.
  • Follow up on the prospected customers and ensure on time and quick response to all inquiries.
  • Ensure that pipeline is always updated and reflects solid sales prospects.
  • Ensure proper presentation of the company during all customer meetings.
  • Conduct cost analysis and ensure pricing components are covered in any RFQ.
  • Establish customer agreements and ensure that pricing guidelines are always applied and profitability targets for customers are met.
  • Ensure competitors & market updates are present for strategic decision making.
  • Follow up on the on boarding for new clients to ensure client/ contractual needs and expectations are communicated to achieve positive results.
  • Follow up on existing customers satisfaction and all corrective and preventive measures are taken to solve any complains.
  • Sell any new service for existing customers.
  • Ensure KPIs and contractual agreements are followed for existing customers.
  • Reviewing receivables & following up with credit controller to assure invoices are settled on time.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Provide guidance to the Direct sales team and improve overall direct sales department performance.



Job Requirements
  • High presentation skills and abilities to demonstrate companies’ capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. 
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales team.
  • Specific experience creating strategic solutions and accurate forecasting.
  • Marketing or Business administration related degree or equivalent professional qualification Professional Diploma.
  • Proven working experience as a Logistics sales  Manager
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
