Job Description:
As a System Administrator at Pharos University, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting our IT systems to facilitate an optimal learning and working environment. You will be responsible for maintaining our servers and ensuring the security and reliability of our technological resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure.
- Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect university data and systems.
- User Support: Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students, addressing hardware and software issues promptly.
- Backup and Recovery: Oversee backup procedures, perform regular backups, and develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- System Upgrades: Plan and execute system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain optimal performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work with other IT team members and departments to improve IT processes and implement new technologies.
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field with practical experience.Experience: 5 years’ experience or more as a System Administrator or in a similar role, with a strong background in managing Windows environments.Skills:Proficiency in server administration.Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services.Strong understanding of IT security practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
