Job Summary:
The Material Controlling Head is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of material control within the warehouse. This includes inventory management, material handling, and implementing effective processes to optimize the flow of materials. The role is critical in ensuring inventory accuracy, minimizing waste, and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the management of inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control systems to track material usage and stock levels.
Material Handling:
- Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
- Ensure proper handling and storage to minimize damage and loss.
- Develop and optimize warehouse layout for efficient material flow.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements related to material control.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material handling and inventory management.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the material control team, providing guidance and training.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop team members.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure material availability aligns with operational needs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding inventory status and material requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage material deliveries.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in material handling.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory and material transactions.
- Conduct training sessions on safety and material handling procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. years of experience in warehouse operations and material control, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.Strong Analytical skills and Reporting .Excellent user of MS Office Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership and team management capabilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
