Responsibilities:
Conduct Land Surveys:
- Perform precise measurements of land to determine boundaries, locations, and other geographic features.
- Use surveying instruments like GPS, total stations, and theodolites to gather data.
Prepare Survey Reports:
- Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports, maps, and charts.
- Provide information and data to engineers, architects, and construction managers for use in planning and development projects.
Verify Legal Descriptions:
- Review and verify the accuracy of legal descriptions, deeds, and titles.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land use.
Boundary Disputes Resolution:
- Assist in resolving boundary disputes by determining and marking property boundaries accurately.
Topographic Surveys:
- Conduct topographic surveys to determine the elevations, slopes, and contours of land.
- Provide necessary data for the design of roads, buildings, and other structures.
Stakeout Surveys:
- Mark specific points on the ground to guide construction projects according to design plans.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure projects are built to specifications.
Monitor Construction Progress:
- Regularly monitor construction sites to ensure that construction work aligns with survey data and project specifications.
- Report discrepancies or issues to the relevant stakeholders.
Maintain Survey Equipment:
- Regularly inspect and maintain surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Calibrate instruments as necessary.
Coordinate with Other Professionals:
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and planners to ensure accurate and effective project execution.
- Communicate survey results and data to relevant stakeholders.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all survey work is conducted following health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures on-site.
