Role purpose:
Supporting New Group Product VBeSIM Manager that is launching in FY24/25. by Providing Global IT DevOps methodologies support to balance needs throughout the software application development life cycle. including setup using Kubernetes on Cloud infrastructure using AWS, integrations through APIs, coding, deployments using GitHub, monitoring, maintenance, and processes. in addition to handling the Incident management, Service requests and onboarding activities to meet the expected availability and performance. to deliver a production-ready, secure, reliable modern solution. To be used by both Vodafone OCPOs and VGE Customers around the world.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Application buildup on cloud solution AWS.
• System integration and implementation of Kubernetes.
• Delivering new featurs to the end customer using DevOps CICD tools ( jankins , GitHub ).
• Perform solution buildup by authorizing, validating (changes, upgrades, patches and migrations) & Implementation.
• Follow the agreed support model ( first line KT, using pre-production environment for testing activities before go-live, etc).
• Update the technical documentation and the team knowledge base
• Follow-up on the daily health checks and fix problems once they appear on a server.
• Keep up to date with the new product versions and new releases.
• Automating or scripting manual tasks
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
• Skills : Devops , AWS is a must .
• Solid Linux/Unix administration experience
• Cloud knowledge ( AWS, Azur, GCP,..etc )
• Understanding and experience with Cloud based systems such as SaaS, Containerization & Microservices.
• Experienced with DevOps tools:
- Continuous Integration & Delivery Tools (Jenkins/GoCD)
- VCS (Git/SVN).
- configuration management tools (ansible).
- GitHub
• Understanding ITIL/ITSM guideline
• Fair experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Fair experience with working in an Agile environment (Scrum, SaFe).
• DBA knowledge overview (SQL,Oracle)
• Development skills using (shell scripting, PERL, Python, Ruby On Rails, Java, JavaScript) would be desirable.
Technical / professional qualifications: professional qualifications:
• Bachelor of Engineering / computer science or related discipline
• 3-6 years IT Support, system administration & Operation & web/software development experience
• Strong Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Fluent English both oral and written is a must.
• Ownership and commitment attitude
• Excellent analytical thinking skills
• Handling multi-tasks
• Ability to work under Pressure
• Ability to lead the investigation with third parties
• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
• Self motivated, detail-oriented
• Willing to work on shift basis and On-call.
Technical qualifications:
• Understanding Mainly Proxies logic and/or Software's like Apache, Squid ..etc.
• Scripting or programming languages
• Understanding Networking fundamentals and Network Troubleshooting Skills
• Troubleshooting experience with Java applications.
• Ability to document process flow diagrams.
• Familiar with systems integration.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs
• Working knowledge of monitoring, alerting systems and log streaming
• BMC Remedy experience is desirable
