Job Summary:
ensure that stores have the right volume of products to provide a consistent retail experience. They ensure timely supply of products in the right amounts and work with buyers to monitor, plan and forecast stock levels. Merchandisers are specialists who collaborate with retail store staff to improve retail experience and sales.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working to create attractive and unified sales floor displays that feature relevant products and sales.
- Stocking shelves and displays on the sales floor, where additional inventory management assistance is required.
- Ensuring retail staff are well informed on product details and promotions.
- Maintaining and tracking product inventory in every retailer
- Briefing staff on stock display and rotation to ensure every space is optimized
- Monitoring sales and identifying any losses or stock wastage
- Assessing the effectiveness of different product displays and store layouts on sales figures
- Reviewing competitors, including pricing, profit, marketing and other progress
• Proven experience working as merchandiser. Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing and listening• Strong time management abilities, including planning and prioritizing workloads• Effective strategic planning, both for the short-term and long-term• Thorough understanding of merchandising trends and industry best practices• In-depth knowledge of industry-specific trends and issues• ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions• Creative and innovative thinking• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to managers, staff and suppliers• A proven track record of achieving excellent results with merchandising strategies and promotional activity
