Position Description:
The department of Design and Production Engineering at the faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS), German University in Cairo seeks applicants for a full-time position of Teaching Assistants. The faculty invites candidates for an exquisite opportunity to become engaged in an interactive teaching environment incorporated with state-of-the-art research.
Candidates for the TA position must hold a minimum of a bachelor ‘s degree in Design and Production Engineering from a reputable university. Candidates should be able to demonstrate professional experience in the fields of mechanics, engineering drawing, design, manufacturing (cutting and non-cutting operations), production technology, operations management, non-conventional manufacturing, computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing, flexible manufacturing systems, computer integrated manufacturing , additive manufacturing and smart manufacturing systems with emphasis on software and computational skills, coding, programing and optimization.
TA Responsibilities:
Discuss ideas and apply the concepts covered in lectures; hold weekly office hours; grade assignments, exams, or projects; keep records; distribute and copy study materials; prepare answer keys or supplementary notes; challenge and motivate students by supervising their projects and assignments in addition to performing other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications (external):
• Bachelor/master's degree in design and production engineering or any related fields
• Excellent with honors/ or very good.
• Excellent command of English language.
• Practical and teaching experience (junior teaching Assistant, Research assistant) would be an asset.
• Enthusiastic and interested in research and graduate studies.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Computer skills.
• Good management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, communicate and motivate effectively.
• Teamwork spirit.
• Cultural Competence in dealing with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
