Mechanical Service Manager

  • To oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the mechanical systems and equipment of the organization’s facilities
  • To ensure that the mechanical systems and equipment are functioning properly and safely, and meet the relevant standards and regulations
  • To manage the mechanical maintenance staff, including training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating their performance
  • To plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including budgeting, ordering, inspecting and reporting
  • To coordinate with other departments and external contractors to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the facilities
  • Some examples of mechanical systems and equipment are:
  • HVAC systems
  • Pumps and valves
  • Boilers and turbines
  • Generators and motors
  • Compressors and fans
  • Coordinating with architects and contractors to ensure that mechanical systems and equipment meet design specifications and other regulations
  • Conducting regular inspections of mechanical systems and equipment to identify and resolve issues
  • Checking mechanical systems of buildings to ensure functionality
  • Planning and overseeing all repair and installation activities for mechanical systems and equipment
  • Allocating workload and supervising mechanical maintenance staff
  • Monitoring equipment inventory and placing orders when necessary
  • Monitoring expenses and controlling the budget for mechanical maintenance
  • Managing relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Keeping maintenance logs and reporting on daily activities
  • Ensuring health and safety policies are complied with
  • Performing hands-on maintenance tasks such as HVAC, pumps, valves, boilers, turbines, generators, motors, compressors, fans etc.
  • Overseeing facility repair projects from start to finish, including budgeting time and materials needed for each project
  • Reviewing maintenance requests from staff members and determining whether the requests

Previous experience managing a team of Maintenance employees through motivation, coaching and development.The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitaskProven experience supervising Maintenance departments of 50+ labors.Ability to maintain a budget.Proven excellence in customer service.Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision making skills abilityActivator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets,databases).Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to perform effectively under high pressure/volume, self-motivated, high energy and enthusiastic.Strong communication, decision-making, organization and leadership skills.Personal skills:Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability.Strong communication, decision-making, organization and leadership skills.Education and Formal Training:Engineering College Degree.Experience:A minimum of 7 years’ experience in all aspects of mechanical engineering in a large, multi-use facility required, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
