Job Description

As a General Accountant, you will manage all financial transactions and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Your responsibilities will include preparing budget forecasts, publishing timely financial statements, and handling monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. You will also reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely bank payments, compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage All Accounting Transactions:
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Prepare Budget Forecasts:
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial plans.
  • Monitor and report on variances between actuals and budgeted amounts.
• Publish Financial Statements in a Timely Manner:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure that financial statements comply with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Handle Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closings:
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and analyze account reconciliations.
• Reconcile Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accurate and timely payments and collections.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure Timely Bank Payments:
  • Manage the company’s cash flow by ensuring that all bank payments are made on time.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Compute Taxes and Prepare Tax Returns:
  • Calculate and prepare tax payments and returns.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Manage Balance Sheets and Profit/Loss Statements:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date balance sheets.
