1. Basic Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrated mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to enhance the efficiency and performance of automated machinery and robotics.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

2.1 Main Tasks:

  • System Design: Design and develop mechatronic systems, including robotics, automation systems, and smart devices, integrating mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes of mechatronic systems, evaluating their performance and making necessary adjustments to meet design specifications.
  • Automation: Develop and implement automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. Collaborate with production teams to integrate automation technologies.
  • Control Systems: Design and implement control systems for mechatronic devices, including the development of algorithms and software for system control and monitoring.
  • Project Management: Manage mechatronics projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance requirements. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for mechatronic systems. Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research and development to explore new technologies and innovations in mechatronics. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into projects.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance procedures. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of mechatronic systems. Conduct rigorous testing and validation to meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all mechatronic systems comply with safety regulations and standards. Develop and implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits.
  • Training: Provide training and support to operators and technicians on the use and maintenance of mechatronic systems. Develop training materials and conduct workshops as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate different components and systems. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source necessary materials and components.
  • Cost Management: Analyze the cost implications of mechatronic projects and develop strategies to minimize expenses without compromising quality or performance.

3. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

  • System Performance: Measure the performance and reliability of mechatronic systems, including efficiency, accuracy, and downtime.
  • Project Completion: Track the percentage of mechatronics projects completed on time and within budget.
  • Quality Metrics: Monitor the quality and compliance of mechatronic systems with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintenance Efficiency: Assess the effectiveness of maintenance and troubleshooting activities, including response time and resolution rate.
  • Innovation Impact: Evaluate the impact of new technologies and innovations on system performance and operational efficiency.

4. DYNAMICS / LIAISE:

4.1 Within the Organization:

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate and optimize mechatronic systems.
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure the successful implementation and operation of mechatronic solutions.

4.2 With External Parties:

  • Engage with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to source materials, components, and technical support.
  • Network with industry professionals and participate in conferences and workshops to stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in mechatronics.

1. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Preferably graduates from an American university in Cairo.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechatronics engineering or related roles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:Strong understanding of mechatronics principles, including mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering.Proficiency in using design and simulation software, such as CAD, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming tools.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Strong project management abilities, with experience in managing cross-functional projects.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to mechatronics and automation.3. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:Working Conditions: Combination of office-based work and on-site work in manufacturing or industrial facilities. May require occasional travel for meetings, site visits, and industry events.Physical Efforts: Requires physical fitness and the ability to conduct on-site evaluations, installations, and maintenance.Other Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a dynamic environment. High level of integrity and ethical standards in conducting engineering activities.
