1. Basic Responsibilities:

  • Optimize manufacturing processes, improve production efficiency, and ensure product quality by applying engineering principles and techniques.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

2.1 Main Tasks:

  • Process Optimization: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop and implement optimized processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Production Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of production plans and schedules to meet production targets and deadlines. Coordinate with production, supply chain, and logistics teams.
  • Quality Control: Design and implement quality control systems to monitor and improve product quality. Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Apply lean manufacturing principles and practices to eliminate waste, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency. Conduct training and workshops to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facility Layout: Design and optimize facility layouts to improve workflow, reduce material handling, and enhance overall efficiency. Develop detailed layout plans and coordinate with relevant teams to implement changes.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes and systems comply with safety regulations and standards. Develop and implement safety procedures and conduct regular safety audits.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, measure performance, and inform decision-making. Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure uninterrupted production and timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives to improve profitability. Analyze production costs and develop strategies to minimize expenses without compromising quality.
  • Project Management: Manage production engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet performance expectations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Automation: Evaluate and implement automation technologies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce manual labor. Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate automation solutions.
  • Sustainability: Develop and implement sustainable manufacturing practices to reduce environmental impact and promote resource efficiency. Monitor and report on sustainability metrics.

3. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

  • Production Efficiency: Measure the overall efficiency of manufacturing processes, including cycle time, throughput, and downtime.
  • Quality Metrics: Track product quality metrics, such as defect rates, rework rates, and customer complaints.
  • Cost Savings: Monitor cost reduction initiatives and measure the financial impact of implemented improvements.
  • Safety Compliance: Assess compliance with safety regulations and the effectiveness of safety procedures.
  • Project Completion: Measure the percentage of engineering projects completed on time and within budget.

4. DYNAMICS / LIAISE:

4.1 Within the Organization:

  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, logistics, quality control, and other departments to ensure alignment of engineering activities with business goals.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives and improvement projects.

4.2 With External Parties:

  • Engage with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions.
  • Network with industry professionals and participate in industry events to stay informed about market trends and best practices.

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production engineering or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:Strong understanding of production engineering principles, methods, and best practices.Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, such as CAD, simulation software, and data analysis tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Project management abilities, with experience in managing cross-functional projects.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.Familiarity with automation technologies and their application in manufacturing.Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.2. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:Working Conditions: Combination of office-based work and on-site work in manufacturing facilities. May require occasional travel for meetings, site visits, and industry events.Physical Efforts: Requires physical fitness and the ability to conduct on-site evaluations and audits.Other Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality work and achieving business objectives. High level of integrity and ethical standards in conducting engineering activities.
