  • Conducting analysis of current and future capacity requirements based on demand forecasts, business growth projections, and historical data. 
  • Assessing the organization's resources, such as equipment, facilities, and workforce, to ensure they can meet the projected demand.
  • Developing strategies and plans to optimize the utilization of resources. 
  • Determining the appropriate staffing levels, scheduling shifts, and allocating resources efficiently to meet production or service delivery targets.
  • Optimizing inventory levels to avoid both stockouts (which lead to delays and missed deliveries) and overstocking (which ties up resources and increases storage costs).
  • Anticipating future demand patterns and aligning capacity accordingly.
  • Analyze historical transportation data, market trends, and customer demand to forecast logistics capacity requirements and plan for peak seasons or fluctuations.
  • Collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather data and insights for accurate demand forecasting.

  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of capacity planning and resource allocation. 
  • Tracking and analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices in capacity planning and resource management. 
  • Evaluating new technologies, tools, or methodologies that can enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement capacity planning strategies for logistics operations to ensure efficient utilization of resources, including transportation vehicles, warehouses, and distribution centers.
  • Generating reports and presenting data to management and stakeholders to provide insights into capacity utilization, resource allocation, and performance metrics. 
  • Using analytical tools and techniques to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Developing and managing the logistics department's budget, this includes allocating resources for transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and other logistics activities.
  • analyzing historical data and market trends to predict future needs and ensure efficient use of resources. 
  • Tracking actual spending against the budget and making adjustments as needed to stay on track.

 


Education: Bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field is commonly required. Years of Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in sales or business development.Proven experience in capacity planning, resource allocation, or production planning is highly valuable.Previous experience in a managerial role is mandtory, as it showcases leadership and decision-making skills.Certificates: Master of Business Administration (MBA).Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).Certified Transportation Professional (CTP).
