As a BIM Structural Shop Drawing Engineer, your primary role involves translating design concepts into detailed shop drawings using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Working closely with the design and construction teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive drawings that serve as a crucial communication tool between various stakeholders in the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize BIM software (such as Revit) to develop detailed structural shop drawings based on project specifications and design documents.
2. Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to understand design intent and incorporate necessary details into shop drawings.
3. Ensure that shop drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and project requirements.
4. Address and resolve clashes and coordination issues within the BIM model, coordinating with other disciplines to optimize constructability.
5. Generate accurate material lists, fabrication details, and installation instructions for structural components.
6. Collaborate with fabrication and construction teams to ensure the seamless transition from design to construction phase.
7. Maintain the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle, updating shop drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
8. Conduct quality checks on shop drawings to guarantee accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
9. Provide technical support and clarification to construction teams regarding shop drawings and BIM-related issues.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.- Proficiency in BIM software, with expertise in creating shop drawings using Revit,-Minimum2 years experience- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction processes, and detailing.- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
