Position Summary:

 

Amideast Egypt seeks a LEGO & Programming and Programmatic Thinking technical expert for the STEM Center Program. The goal of the program is to provide Egyptian children and youth with opportunities to improve their knowledge and skills in market-relevant STEM fields.   

 

The LEGO & Programming and Programmatic Thinking technical expert will be responsible for creating curriculum of the LEGO & Programming and Programmatic Thinking to different groups of students aged 8-15 and develop interactive and engaging content for different STEM courses, approved by Amideast. S/he will also prepare standardized curriculum manuals (participants’ guide and trainers’ guide), handouts, and instructional PowerPoint slides.

 

Tasks and responsibilities: 

 

  • Ensure the logical sequencing of  technical content, material, and resources. 
  • Outline the objectives to be reached per session. 
  • Ensure the accuracy of technical content, material and resources prepared and supported by references.  
  • Prepare standardized curriculum manuals (participants’ guide and trainers’ ‘guide), handouts, and instructional PowerPoint slides for the assigned courses. 
  • Include interactive activities using video, case studies, gamification…etc. 
  • Share each module with Amideast for feedback and editing. 
  • Share the criteria for selecting participants.  

 

 

Deliverables: 

  • Curriculum framework to be presented and approved by Amideast before working on it. 
  • Trainers’ guide with full resources, references with further readings and citations. 
  • Participants’ guide fully edited, signed, and approved by the technical expert.  
  • Instructional PowerPoint slides to be used in class. 
  • All handouts/movies downloaded/ games should be suitable for young children and does not require parental supervision. 
  • Prior approval by Amideast for all handouts/movies downloaded/ games is needed prior to introduction to children. 
  • Instructions per session on resources needed for the sessions in addition to all printable and supplementary materials.  
  • Full assessment plan for the students' progress over the course period
  • List of the needed tools and materials for the whole course 
  • First draft to be delivered for review
  • Second draft to be delivered for review
  • Final draft to be shared with Amideast on 30 May 2024.
  • Criteria of selecting participants with minimum score that should be achieved at each point

 

 


 Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the STEM field; Master’s degree in education or related STEM field preferred.Experience in analyzing data and using results to modify the developed curriculum.Experience in developing standardized curriculum manuals, handouts, instructional PowerPoint across different courses.Strong understanding of different STEM pedagogies and how to implement them.Significant experience with instructional best practices.Knowledge of techniques for facilitating groups of learners.Ability to plan, model, coach and provide feedback to individual teachers and teams of teachers to improve teaching.Experience implementing effective instructional practices.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills
