Constantly evaluate resources and make the necessary modifications with
consultation with teachers and school management.
Ensure that relevant resources are ordered and used effectively.
Offer advice and training on resources used to ensure better performance.
Allocate available resources with maximum efficiency to meet the objectives
of school and subject plans and achieve value for money.
Periodically update the department book order in consultation with teachers
and school management.
Ensure that the learning resources are used effectively and efficiently.
Regularly explore opportunities to develop or incorporate new resources.
Ensure that teachers are using and enforcing the use of library resources.
Monitor the provision and use of resources in the library.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Establish and implement clear policies and practices for assessing,
recording, and reporting.
Ensure that students’ achievements data in previous classes is used
effectively to track progress in the subject.
Monitor and evaluate data-based curriculum implementation and planning.
Regularly scrutinize students work samples to be able to track their progress
(e.g., 3 notebooks high ability, average ability, and low ability).
Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning during class visits and
observations.
Assess and record students’ achievement and progress against local and
international norms.
Use assessment data to inform the department and school policies, practices,
expectations, targets, and teaching methods.
Ensure the standards are in line with the school curriculum and expectations
and are appropriate for each grade level.
Share and discuss Class Observation Rubric with teachers prior to any visit.
Have expert knowledge of the subject area. Know and establish school’s objectives, priorities, and action plans. Receive and systematically file official documentation. Ensure that teachers are aware of statutory requirements. Organize curriculum meetings for teachers, parents, and schoolmanagement. Identify needs in one’s own subject in relation to the overall needs of theschool. Understand how the subject contributes to school priorities and to the overalleducation and achievement of all students. Be a role model to colleagues in the department in terms of punctuality,reliability, diligence, effectiveness, and professionalism.
