Plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care by providing on-site technical support to clinicians. This position involves ensuring the proper and effective use of clinical information systems and assisting with system navigation, troubleshooting, and patient monitoring issues. The specialist will collaborate with various leaders to plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical systems and services. Accountabilities

  • Provide immediate and effective technical assistance to clinicians to rapidly address and solve technical problems faced by clinicians, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care and clinical workflows.
  • Ensure the optimal functioning of clinical information systems.to maintain and enhance the performance of clinical information systems, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and meet the needs of healthcare providers .
  • Assist users in navigating clinical systems to facilitate ease of use for clinicians and staff, enhancing their ability to efficiently use clinical systems in their daily work.
  • Identify and resolve system issues to minimize disruptions in patient care to address system issues proactively and reactively, ensuring that these issues do not hinder patient care processes and clinical operations.
  • Help in setting up and troubleshooting patient monitoring systems to ensure that patient monitoring systems are properly set up and functioning optimally, enabling accurate and continuous monitoring of patient health.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of patient data to maintain the integrity and accuracy of patient data captured and reported by monitoring systems, ensuring that clinicians have reliable information for decision-making.
  • Work with leaders from various disciplines to develop and implement effective clinical systems as well as participate in cross-functional teams to enhance system integration and functionality.
  • Suggest improvements based on user feedback and observed performance to continuously improve clinical systems by incorporating user feedback and observations, thereby enhancing system performance and user experience.
  • Gain exposure to complex tasks and challenges within the job function to develop advanced skills and understanding through exposure to complex IT challenges, thereby enhancing professional competence.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions to keep detailed documentation of all technical issues and their resolutions, supporting future troubleshooting efforts and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards to uphold compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in healthcare IT, ensuring the security and confidentiality of patient information and system integrity.

Job Requirement Education
  • BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field is usually required.
Experience
  • 0-3 years of Experience working in a healthcare IT environment is highly beneficial.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in general retail systems.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Understanding of patient management software and clinical databases.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN.
