The resource will be integrated into a technical consulting team operating in the banking and financial sector, on software delivery projects focused on the distributed computing of large volumes of data in containerized environments, both on-premises and on-cloud. The activity takes place on projects implementing Prometeia software solutions for companies in the Financial Industry (banks, insurance companies, asset managers), in Italy and abroad, and is dedicated to the field of data management: analysis of client data sources, definition and configuration of data acquisition and transformation flows (ETL), quality controls and reconciliation, population of application databases, management and monitoring of recurring executions, analysis and resolution of discrepancies.
Required skills
- Good knowledge of SQL: writing, reading and modifying queries, joins, aggregations
- Knowledge of relational database principles and the ability to read an ER (Entity-Relationship) diagram, understanding its semantics.
- Understanding of data transformation (ETL) logic: source-destination correspondences, conversion rules, handling of missing values and discrepancies
- Familiarity with the main data exchange formats and mechanisms: CSV files, JSON, file transfer, and basic knowledge of REST APIs
- Familiarity with data lakehouse paradigms: layered architecture (bronze/silver/gold), S3-compatible object storage, Parquet format and table format such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
- Experience working with Databricks (notebooks, jobs, Delta table management) and knowledge of dbt or similar tools for declarative and versioned data transformation.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems: independent use via command line, file system navigation, log reading
- Basic knowledge of containerization principles and container orchestrators (Kubernetes) is sufficient to operate in this type of environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Office suite, with a good command of MS Excel
Skills that constitute an asset
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server
- Experience with ETL or data integration tools
- Knowledge of a scripting or programming language used for data manipulation (Python, bash, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of schedulers for batch stream orchestration (r currents)
- Use of a code and configuration version control system (Git)
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or other Kubernetes distributions
- Knowledge of reporting tools, particularly Power BI
- Knowledge of cloud-based IT systems management (preferably MS Azure)
- Interest in or first exposure to the field of financial risks and the data that feeds it (positions, counterparties, instrument reference data, contractual flows)

- Ability to analyze data and perform quantitative reconciliation: capacity to identify the cause of a discrepancy between source and expected result

The ideal profile is that of a graduate in technical-scientific disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Engineering, Mathematics, Physics) with at least 3 years of experience in the Information Technology sector.
