Job Details

  • Assist in preparing infection control reports, surveillance data, and infection rates.

  • Participate in developing and updating departmental policies and procedures.

  • Monitor compliance with hospital hygiene and infection control standards across all departments.

  • Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with infection control standards, including IV cannula insertion and dating, urinary catheter insertion, and wound dressing.

  • Monitor nursing staff during medication administration to ensure proper infection control practices are followed.

  • Monitor nursing staff’s compliance with proper medical waste segregation and disposal procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to all hospital departments on preventing and controlling healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

  • Conduct infection surveillance activities in collaboration with the Microbiology Physician.

  • Conduct epidemiological assessments and investigations across hospital departments in collaboration with the Microbiology Physician to identify infection control issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Provide guidance to nursing staff regarding isolation precautions, personal protective measures, and appropriate infection control interventions for patients with infectious conditions.

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of infection prevention and control programs.

  • Develop and maintain an effective infection reporting and notification system.

  • Participate in the selection of infection control supplies and equipment, including disinfectants and single-use items, and provide guidance on their proper use.

  • Maintain accurate patient-related infection control data and surveillance records to support ongoing monitoring and reporting activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or Nursing.

  • Diploma in Infection Control.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in Infection Control or a related healthcare field.

  • Relevant internal and external training courses in Infection Prevention and Control.

  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.

  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with different hospital departments.
