Role Description The Head Accountant role at Milat Egypt is a full-time, on-site position based in Egypt. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly and annual financial closing. The Head Accountant prepares and reviews financial statements, ensures compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations, and manages budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities. Day-to-day tasks include supervising the accounting team, reviewing journal entries and reports, coordinating with external auditors, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date financial records. The role also involves supporting management with financial analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. Qualifications Strong knowledge of financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis to support business decisions. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in Excel and other MS Office applications. In-depth understanding of local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures in Egypt. Proven ability to lead and supervise an accounting team, delegate tasks, and review work for accuracy. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage. Several years of progressive experience in accounting, including prior experience in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in manufacturing, textiles, or a similar industry is preferred but not required.
