About the Role
DXB Properties Inc. is a growing Canadian home builder based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are seeking an experienced Residential Architectural Designer & Project Coordinator for a full-time, long-term remote position.
This is not solely a drafting or design role. The successful candidate will be involved throughout the complete project lifecycle, from residential design and construction documentation through material takeoffs, procurement, construction coordination and project follow-up.
The ideal candidate understands how residential projects progress from design and permitting through construction and can provide hands-on support to the Project Manager throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare residential designs, permit drawings and detailed construction drawing packages* Develop and maintain accurate BIM models using Revit* Prepare and revise Auto CAD drawings as required* Produce professional interior and exterior 3D renderings* Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical and other consultant information* Review drawings for conflicts, missing information and constructability issues* Prepare material quantity takeoffs and schedules* Assist with project specifications, scopes of work and material schedules* Research construction products, materials and suppliers* Assist with pricing, supplier quotations, purchasing and procurement* Review shop drawings, product data and supplier information against project requirements* Track drawing revisions, RFIs, submittals, selections, approvals and outstanding items* Coordinate information among consultants, suppliers, trades and the construction team* Maintain organized project files, drawing sets, schedules and coordination records* Assist the Project Manager with planning, coordination and project follow-up* Follow up with responsible parties to help keep projects on schedule* Assist with resolving design and documentation issues during construction
Required Qualifications
* Proven experience in single-family or multi-family residential projects* Strong proficiency in Revit and Auto CAD* Experience producing complete residential construction drawing packages* Experience creating professional architectural 3D renderings* Practical understanding of residential construction methods, materials and detailing* Experience with material quantity takeoffs and schedules* Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural and mechanical drawings* Strong project coordination, communication and follow-up skills* Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability* Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines* Fluent professional English, both written and spoken* Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection and suitable remote working environment* Availability to work agreed hours with substantial overlap with Saskatchewan, Canada business hours
Strong Assets
* Experience with Canadian or North American residential construction* Knowledge of wood-frame residential construction* Familiarity with Canadian building codes and permit requirements* Experience supporting residential projects during construction* Experience with procurement, supplier coordination and construction estimating
