Role Description This is a full-time, on-site جزار (Butcher) role based in Alexandria, Egypt. The butcher is responsible for cutting, deboning, trimming, and portioning various types of meat according to company standards and customer specifications. Daily tasks include preparing meat for display and packaging, checking product quality, and ensuring correct labeling and storage. The role involves following hygiene and food safety procedures, cleaning and maintaining tools and work areas, and handling equipment safely. The butcher may also assist with loading and unloading meat products, coordinating with the production team, and providing basic product information to colleagues and clients.
Qualifications

Practical experience in meat cutting, deboning, trimming, and portioning in a butcher shop or meat processing facility. Strong knowledge of meat types, cuts, and appropriate handling, including cold storage practices and shelf-life awareness. Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and safe use of knives, saws, and other cutting equipment. Ability to follow instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures with attention to detail. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move meat products, and work in chilled environments. Basic numeracy for weighing, portioning, and recording quantities; ability to read labels and simple documentation. Team-oriented attitude, reliability, and willingness to support colleagues across different stages of production. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred; vocational training in butchery or meat processing is an advantage. Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers; basic Arabic literacy is beneficial.
