Job Purpose:
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and yearend audit preparation, support of budget and forecast activities and reporting to internal and external users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review entries to proper accounts entries (Fixed assets, investment, receivables, general accounting, current accounts, banks, loans, payables, stores, land accounts, collections, and accrual accounts) and any other sector related to business.
- Review all the Journal Vouchers.
- Monitor closing costs.
- Monitor revenues and expenses.
- Generates valid reports (KPI’s, Inventory, FRP, Financial Analysis, AGING. etc.)
- Supervise an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Run finance modules.
- Arrange with related entities to issue LG’s and LC’s.
- Supervise daily banking requirements & transactions.
- Supervise and lead the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Responds to inquiries from the Finance Director, Financial Controller, and other finance team members and other concerned regarding financial results, special reporting requests.
- Monitors grant revenues and expenditures, ensuring data is recorded on the financial accounting system.
- Work with the Superior to ensure an organized and timely yearend audit.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or any other relevant field.
• A minimum of 7+ years of experience.
• High level of proficiency on MS office applications
• Solid inter-personal skills. • Ability to network with professionals in the financial sector.
• Strong Numerical Skills.
