Business Development Specialist (C-Pay Solution) 

Position Summary: The Business Development Specialist for Classera’s C-Pay solution is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with both existing and potential clients. This includes educational institutions such as schools, universities, and training institutes. The specialist will drive C-Pay adoption, build relationships with decision-makers, and meet or exceed sales targets. After closing sales, the client handoff to the Customer Success team will be clearly structured to ensure smooth onboarding and adoption. Success in this role requires strong negotiation, communication, and strategic planning abilities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Client Engagement

Proactively contact existing and potential clients to present and demonstrate C-Pay’s value, customizing solutions to meet their specific needs. 

Develop long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty and future opportunities. 

Collaborate with marketing to execute outreach campaigns aimed at existing and potential Classera clients. 

Sales Management

Achieve targeted contract closures annually, adjusting goals quarterly to ensure realistic, progressive targets. 

Focus on ensuring a minimum 10% client adoption rate post-sale, coordinated with the Customer Success team to drive ongoing engagement. 

Ensure a formal client handover process to the Customer Success team after contract closure, including joint meetings and detailed client background sharing. 

Manage and report on the sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information. 

Market Development

Research and analyze the market to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends in payment solutions for educational institutions. 

Stay informed about competitors’ products, pricing strategies, and client needs to position C-Pay effectively. 

 


Required Competencies: Proven ability to close deals and manage complex negotiations, particularly in the edtech or fintech sectors. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with high-level decision-makers. Ability to communicate C-Pay's value proposition effectively through written proposals, verbal presentations, and product demonstrations. Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills to identify new business opportunities and optimize the sales strategy. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales Quota: Close targeted contracts annually with progressive quarterly targets and a 15% adoption rate per client. Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) during handover to Customer Success: Ensure a smooth, documented client handoff for ongoing support and adoption. Revenue Growth: Drive C-Pay's revenue through successful client acquisition and retention. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in fintech or edtech. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a B2B environment. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
