Job Overview:
The Production Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective production processes within the plant. Responsible for overseeing production activities, optimizing operations, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. The Production Engineer also provides technical expertise, leads process optimization initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of production plans.
- Optimize production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to production teams, troubleshooting issues and resolving technical challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain production procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze production data, such as cycle time, and downtime, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive measures to minimize re_occurrence.
- Lead and support new product development and process optimization projects, ensuring seamless integration into production operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all production activities.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in glass processing, recommending and implementing relevant advancements.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in production engineering or manufacturing operations, preferably in the glass processing industry.Strong technical knowledge of glass processing equipment, production processes, and quality control methods.Proficiency in process optimization techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide production teams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing operations.Continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach to driving operational excellence.
