Job Description

The Production Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production processes and systems. They work to ensure that manufacturing operations are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. This role involves collaboration with various departments, such as design, quality control, and supply chain management, to improve production workflows and resolve technical issues.

  • Process Design and Optimization:
    • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
    • Design and optimize workflows to minimize waste and enhance productivity.
  • Production Monitoring and Control:
    • Monitor production processes to ensure they meet operational standards.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the production cycle.
    • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Work closely with quality control teams to maintain product quality.
    • Implement quality control processes and corrective actions for non-conformance.
    • Analyze quality data and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Equipment and Maintenance Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Work with maintenance teams to address equipment failures and downtime.
  • Cost Management:
    • Analyze production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Develop strategies to reduce waste and optimize resource usage.
    • Monitor and control production budgets.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
    • Implement safety protocols and conduct safety training for production staff.
    • Investigate and report on accidents and incidents to improve safety measures.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to align on goals and objectives.
    • Provide technical support and training to production staff.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead or participate in projects related to process improvements, new equipment installations, or technology upgrades.
    • Develop project plans, set milestones, and track progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of production processes, equipment performance, and quality control.
    • Prepare and present reports on production metrics, issues, and improvements.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Experienced

  • 2 - 3 Years of previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is often required. Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is advantageous.
  • Excellent in English language skills.
