Role Description The Registered Nurse role at Assiut University is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, providing direct patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols and professional standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, planning and implementing nursing care, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring patient responses. The role involves collaborating with physicians, allied health professionals, and other nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive care, maintain accurate medical records, and support patient education on diagnoses, treatments, and preventive health. The Registered Nurse will participate in infection control practices, quality and safety initiatives, and may assist in the orientation and mentoring of nursing students or new staff. The position requires adherence to ethical and legal requirements, effective communication with patients and families, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse license or equivalent national nursing registration, with eligibility to practice in Egypt. Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs and treatment outcomes. Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices, infection control standards, and basic life support (BLS); advanced life support certifications are an advantage. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, and provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care. Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation, using hospital information systems, and following safety and quality protocols. Relevant nursing degree or diploma from an accredited institution; previous experience in hospital or academic medical settings is preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-demand clinical environment. Willingness to participate in ongoing training, research activities, and continuous professional development initiatives supported by the university.
