Overview of the role

The forklift operator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods in the warehouse, maintaining high precision and safety standards. The role involves executing store warehouse tasks efficiently, contributing to goods availability, and adhering to health and safety regulations. Success in this role requires an understanding of IKEA operations, collaboration with team members, and effective management of warehouse operations to secure inventory integrity.

What you will do

Warehouse operations

• Ensure efficient and safe processes for the receiving of goods in the warehouse.
• Prepare and pick orders accurately and efficiently for store supply.
• Perform warehouse operations in line with IKEA guidelines to maintain inventory data integrity.
• Execute store warehouse tasks to achieve the highest goods availability.
• Support the implementation of the action plan goals in daily operations.

Safety and compliance

• Commit to all IKEA health, safety, and security rules and requirements.
• Actively assist colleagues in preventing incidents involving co-workers, third parties, equipment, and buildings.
• Ensure compliance with inventory and administrative procedures to maintain product availability.

Collaboration and support

• Provide support to colleagues in the department and other areas of the store when required.
• Demonstrate a friendly manner when approached by colleagues.
• Confidently engage and assist team members to facilitate smooth warehouse operations.

Required skills to be successful

• Skilled in retail and logistics processes, tools, and methods.
• Ability to prioritize and organize individual work duties efficiently.
• Good personal discipline and attention to detail.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate a friendly manner.

What qualifies you for the role

• 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures and logistics processes.
• Driving license for forklift machines is mandatory.
• Familiarity with IKEA brand, culture, and organizational structure.
