Role Description The Nondestructive Testing Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Al Ḩamul. This role is responsible for planning and performing nondestructive tests (such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and visual inspections) on components and equipment used in power generation and energy facilities. The specialist documents test procedures and results, evaluates data to identify defects or irregularities, and prepares clear reports for engineering and quality teams. Daily activities include coordinating with maintenance, production, and safety personnel, ensuring that testing complies with applicable codes and standards, and supporting root-cause investigations and corrective actions. The Nondestructive Testing Specialist also helps maintain testing equipment, adheres to strict safety protocols, and participates in continuous improvement of inspection processes.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of nondestructive testing methods (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) and ability to apply appropriate techniques based on material, component, and service conditions. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and standards related to power generation and industrial equipment. Ability to document inspection procedures, record test data accurately, and prepare clear, concise technical reports for cross-functional teams. Familiarity with quality assurance practices, defect evaluation, and root-cause analysis to support safe and reliable plant operations. Proficiency in operating and maintaining NDT instruments and tools, with attention to calibration, reliability, and safety requirements. Relevant certifications in nondestructive testing (e.g., ASNT Level II or equivalent) and vocational or technical education in engineering, materials science, or a related field. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work safely in industrial environments and at on-site facilities. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams in a multicultural work environment.
