Role Description The Senior Wet & Dry Utilities Design (French Speaker) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Giza. This role involves leading the design and coordination of wet and dry utility networks, including water, wastewater, stormwater, electrical, telecom, and related infrastructure for urban developments and projects. The senior designer prepares and reviews design drawings, technical reports, and calculations, ensuring compliance with local codes, international standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with civil and infrastructure teams, interfacing with external stakeholders and authorities, and providing technical guidance to junior designers. The role also requires frequent communication in French for coordination with francophone clients or partners, participation in design reviews, resolving technical issues during construction, and supporting tender and permitting documentation.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in wet utilities design (potable water, wastewater, stormwater) and dry utilities design (electrical, telecom, gas or similar) for infrastructure or urban development projects. Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3D, and other utilities modeling tools, with solid understanding of engineering standards and codes. Advanced French language skills (spoken and written) along with good English communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder coordination. Experience leading multidisciplinary design coordination, reviewing designs from consultants, and providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers or designers. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a closely related field; professional certification or registration is an advantage. Previous experience in utilities design for large-scale developments or infrastructure projects in Egypt or the MENA region is preferred. Ability to work on-site in Giza, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and interact professionally with clients and authorities.
