Role Description The Furniture Technical Office Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing detailed technical shop drawings for wood and metal furniture, architectural finishes, and related structures in line with project specifications and industry standards. The engineer coordinates with design, production, and site teams to clarify technical requirements, resolve design issues, and ensure accurate fabrication and installation. Daily tasks include developing and updating bills of quantities (BOQs), performing quantity take-offs, checking material requirements, and supporting tender and pricing activities. The role also involves technical support during project execution, documentation of changes, and continuous communication with stakeholders to maintain quality, timelines, and cost control. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts specialized in Furniture design or a related field At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture design and technical office work for wooden and metal works Excellent proficiency in CAD software and other design programs Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and joineries Ability to create technical drawings and specifications Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Passion for the furniture industry and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
