Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Electrical Engineer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical design, review, and coordination of power systems and power distribution for building and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include preparing and validating electrical drawings and calculations, selecting equipment and materials, and ensuring compliance with local codes, international standards, and client specifications. The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, civil and mechanical teams, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules and budgets. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also support site supervision, review contractor submittals, participate in inspections and testing, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering, including the ability to develop and review detailed drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Solid understanding of Electricity principles and applications within building and infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience in Power Distribution systems, including low- and medium-voltage networks and panelboard design. Expertise in Power Systems analysis, protection, and coordination, using relevant software tools where applicable. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Several years of experience in a senior or lead electrical engineering role within construction or contracting environments. Familiarity with Egyptian codes and standards, as well as applicable international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NFPA), is preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, prepare reports, and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and clients. Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with attention to safety, quality, and project deadlines. Professional registration or membership in a recognized engineering body is an advantage.
