To oversee and optimize the production processes in a biscuits and bakery manufacturing facility. The Production Engineer ensures efficient operation, high product quality, equipment reliability, and compliance with food safety standards.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day production activities across mixing, baking, cooling, packaging, and dispatch.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely servicing and repairs.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within quality and safety standards.
- Optimize production parameters (temperature, baking time, dough consistency, etc.) to ensure product consistency.
- Analyze downtime and production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Maintain production records, shift reports, and material usage reports.
- Coordinate with the quality control team to ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and ISO/ HACCP standards.
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train line operators and production workers on SOPs and equipment handling.
- Participate in new product trials and scaling up production processes.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a biscuits, bakery, or food processing plant.
- Strong knowledge of baking machinery, ovens, mixers, conveyors, and packaging lines.
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 or other food safety systems.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic production software/ERP systems.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- HACCP or ISO 22000 Certification
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Training (optional)
